Baton Rouge Food Bank Partners with Capitol City Produce to Open Community Garden

The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank partnered with Capitol City Produce, LSU, and Southern University to make the community garden possible

Leaders held a ribbon-cutting on Nov. 11 to celebrate the new partnership. They say the garden will bring a new source of produce to those who struggle to find fresh produce in certain parts of the city.

“It’s really great to see our community together to bring better and fresher fruits and vegetables to this community," said Paul Ferachi.

“We’re trying consistently to move to more fresh produce into the diets of our clients, to help them improve their health, improve their ability to fight disease. And really try to impact them on a personal level. It is going to be a great contribution to that effort," said Mike Manning of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

The Vince Ferachi Community Garden is located at 16550 Commercial Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
